NEC Users’ Group gold member National Grid utilised NEC to deliver a 32.5 km, award-winning electricity tunnel beneath South London. The Phase 2 tunnel and shafts project was awarded to the Hochtief-Murphy joint venture under an NEC4 Engineering and Construction Contract (ECC) Option C. NEC was the preferred contract suite for both the client and supply chain, with ECC Option C ensuring a fair apportionment of geotechnical risk.
